FOLIOfn, Inc. is the owner of First Affirmative Financial Network, LLC, an SEC-registered investment advisor since 1988, which offers asset management and consulting services to, and through, financial professionals so that individual and institutional investors can align investment decision-making with personal values or institutional missions.

Acquired in late 2016, First Affirmative has been a long-time user of the Folio Institutional platform. In order to drive accelerated business growth, First Affirmative is undergoing a review of its technology infrastructure and advisory offering with the goal of enhancing its services through deeper integration with Folio’s proprietary technology solutions as well as the addition of third party solutions, where appropriate. As such, FOLIOfn, Inc. is seeking to hire a Director, Product Development Project Management who will perform business analysis and project management for  First Affirmative.






  • Work as part of the FOLIOfn, Inc. Project Development and Project Management team (PDPM) and collaborate with the COO of First Affirmative and other stakeholders to understand the existing operating platform and its limitations, both within the context of existing Folio technology and broader technology needs of the business;
  • Assess technical and functional gaps as well as opportunities to accelerate business growth, developing a prioritized roadmap that leads to an enhanced operating platform and supports sustainable processes;
  • Act as integral part of a team responsible for the design, development, approval, training, and communication of new financial services products and enhancements to existing products for Folio’s integrated brokerage and technology platform;
  • Analyze and document internal and customer business processes. Prepare business and functional requirements to address system updates, enhancements, and new products in support of corporate goals and product line sales objectives;
  • Identify and address operational, system, process, and user (advisors and advised clients) impacts in product design and customer communications strategy;
  • Ensure that functional requirements documents include prioritized features, defined scope, use cases, business justification, functional design, and detailed technical requirements;
  • Develop and implement go-to-market plans, working with all departments to ensure successful product launches, conversions, and migrations;
  • Manage product execution activities by collaborating with the Technology and First Affirmative teams during development, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT);
  • Develop and conduct specialized training on new products and features and raise awareness of relevant subject matter.



  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least five (5) years of experience working in a product management, project management, software development, or in a business systems analyst role in financial services, preferably with a self-clearing broker-dealer and/or an RIA (registered investment advisor).
  • Experience working with system developers to produce technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about how product design supports the business processes and strategic goals of the firm and its customers.
  • Familiarity with back-office and front-office operations, both as a user and from a technology perspective.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in investment management operations such as portfolio management systems, account opening workflow, performance reporting, compliance reporting, service management.
  • Experience in brokerage and back-office operations such as clearance and settlement, margin and collateral management, treasury operations, receive and deliver, corporate actions, mutual fund processing, and front-office trading operations.
