  • Overview

    We are seeking a senior business analysis professional for Folio’s Product Development and Project Management team (PDPM). As a senior member of this team, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of next generation retail investing, digital advice, and financial advisor solutions. Performing business analysis, product design, and supporting software development at Folio, your role is to increase the capability, usability, and supportability of existing products, as well as designing entirely new products.


    • Develop a strong working knowledge of products across all Folio’s brands.
    • Act as a part of the team responsible for business analysis, product design, project management, training, and communication of new financial services products and enhancements to Folio’s integrated brokerage and technology platform.
    • Manage the entire product life cycle from needs analysis through business analysis, functional design, requirements preparation, software development, QA, go to market, and product support.
    • Identify business and functional requirements to create products consistent with corporate goals, addressing customer needs and enhancing Folio’s suite of products to reach new markets. Identify and address customer, operational, regulatory, system, & process impacts in product design.
    • Analyze internal and customer business processes and problems, creating detailed functional requirements documents complete with prioritized features and scope, use cases, and technical requirements. Work with Folio’s User Experience (UX) team to create comprehensive and detailed visual designs.
    • Develop and implement go-to-market plans and content, working with all departments to ensure successful product launches, migrations, customer service training, and regulatory compliance.
    • Manage internal and external stakeholders to include their views and secure their participation in the creation and approval of requirements. Monitor internal processes for efficiency and validate pre & post product releases.
    • Support product development activities, collaborating with project management, technology, and project stakeholders during development, testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
    • Develop and conduct specialized training on new products and features and raise awareness of relevant subject matter internally.


    • A minimum of 10 years of experience in business analysis or a systems analyst role in financial services, preferably with a self-clearing broker-dealer with back office as well as advisor and client facing solutions is required.
    • Experience working with system developers and stakeholders to produce detailed specifications is required.
    • Proven ability to think strategically about how product design supports the business goals of the firm and its customers. Able to understand the difference between ‘symptoms’ and underlying system issues and limitations to clearly identify, articulate, and document the most efficient and effective solutions to problems.
    • Familiarity with front-office and back-office brokerage operations, either as an end-user or from a technology perspective is essential. Experience working with software that supports financial advisor activities such as portfolio management, financial planning, trading, and similar services is required.
    • General knowledge of brokerage back-office operations such as clearing and settlement, margin and collateral management, corporate actions, mutual fund processing, and front-office trading operations is highly desired.
