    Folio Investing is looking for a Vice President of Digital Advice and Investment Solutions.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced and entrepreneurial product leader with a proven track record driving and accelerating revenue growth through product development and client engagement and retention. This high influence, high impact role will own and be accountable for all aspects of Digital Wealth and Investment Solutions; business management, strategy and execution.  The position is located in McLean, Va and reports to the Chief Retail Officer.


     The VP of Digital Advice and Investment Solutions will address the general digital wealth management market segment including direct-to-consumer and business-to-business-to-consumer.  This will include use of various product capabilities, features and functions for differing types of enterprises and clients. 

    The person in this role will be analytical, data-driven, creative, and collaborative. They will be relentless about understanding and meeting the needs of customers. Their role is both strategic and operational with several audiences and key initiatives happening simultaneously and moving at a fast pace. We are seeking someone who has the capability and willingness to roll up their sleeves, as well as provide vision.


    In close partnership with marketing and sales leadership, this person will  develop a strategy and roadmap for which clients’, use cases and enterprises are the best targets for adoption.  The candidate will have design, UI/UX and marketing support capability and be able to assist our sales effort with enterprises and enterprise’s marketing efforts to their own customers.


    This individual will lead by example, serving as Folio’s internal client expert. They will excel at guiding internal and external teams to solve complex problems, driving ideas to clarity from ambiguity and pushing teams to think differently from and beyond what already exists in the market to serve evolving client needs.

    The successful candidate is expert in the core skills of product management - positioning, packaging, pricing, etc. They are equally strong as a strategist and a doer who thrives when they can collaborate with others and inspire those around. This candidate never settles for the status quo.

    A strong desire to contribute immediately as well as build future capability is essential.


    • Be accountable for growing and delivering the P&L for our digital advice and investment offerings for business-to-consumer clients and enterprises offering our solutions directly to their own clients.
    • Oversee strategy, planning and execution for the digital advice and investment b2c and b2b2c business
    • In conjunction with leadership, develop the product vision that will allow Folio Investing to become a leader in digital advice and investments.
    • Partner with Sales, Marketing and Public Relations to deliver on our client acquisition goals
    • Support the Chief Retail Officer with  relationship management support for B2B2C partners/clients.
    • Analyze current and future trends in digital wealth and investment products and service.
    • Create monthly business metrics and then monitor/manage monthly business performance and promptly address business performance issues in partnership with functional areas (e.g., Sales, Client Service, IT, Operations).  Work across a matrix organization to identify and address the root causes of client issues.
    • Partner with the UI/UX and IT teams to make Folio ‘s products the forefront of the industry and pushes Folio’s technology forward overall.


    • A passion for the retail investor experience with digital wealth management, retirement or asset management areas strongly preferred.
    • 10+ years of strong digital product management experience at top financial services and/or technology firm with products focused on the retail investor.
    • Demonstrated leadership/management, strategic planning, negotiation, and influence management skills with a history (and preference) of being both strategy and execution-oriented.
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of release schedules, tight deadlines, and competitive demands with the ability to balance what are often times competing priorities between various product/business customers.
    • Highly analytical and data driven.
    • Excel at simplifying complex concepts in messaging and crafting differentiated positioning.
    • Ability to translate business strategy into product strategy.
    • Influencing and leading cross-functionally is a strength. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Exceptional listening skills. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization from senior executives to staff level. Strong presentation skills necessary to communicate and influence a wide range of audiences.
