    Folio Investing is looking for a self-motivated, high energy professional for a managerial level client/advisor billing position in the Operations Risk & Control Department. We are seeking an innovative, strategy-oriented financial services/business professional with the ability to balance day-to-day workload with special ad-hoc projects, along with the ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and clearly articulate process/control problems and offer viable business solutions. Daily workload will include the ability to communicate effectively with other departments, monitoring for new debits in client accounts and resolving aged items, approving funds for client disbursement, closing and reopening accounts, running weekly retail billing, monthly advisory billing, fixed income and 3rd party billing. The role requires the hands-on management of the billing function and associated staff.


    • Perform and supervise all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual billing tasks
    • Supervise compilation of necessary systematic data for billing produced by the Production Support Team
    • Supervise billing and control staff in the preparation and processing of reports and accounting schedules
    • Coach and cross-train new personnel
    • Assist the Operations & Control Dept with transactional fraud monitoring on a daily basis
    • Verify debit balances in customer accounts and validate, report, and sell-out aged items
    • Document designated required billing tasks in the Firm’s WSP
    • Develop corresponding desk-top procedures and proper function metrics
    • Ensure staff adheres to all firm policies and procedures



    • 3+ years experience leading a team of brokerage operations personnel, billing exposure desired
    • Working knowledge of the financial services industry
    • Proven problem solving capabilities
    • Experience with general brokerage operations activities such as: corporate actions, reconciliations, trade settlements and income processing
    • A client centric approach to processing activities balanced with a risk/control mindset
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel


    • Experience with billing and/or accounting functions in a financial services environment
    • Experience with automating operations tasks and re-engineering functions
    • Direct experience with billing in an RIA environment
    • Knowledge of SQL Advantage (desire and aptitude to learn)
    • Margin (Regulation T) experience
    • Transactional Fraud Detection / Management
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
